With the amount of real estate content available on the Internet, it is often hard to sift through the excellent content that helps you learn something versus other content that is more fluff without much substance.

There are some blogs out there whose primary goal is to get you to click on their link and maybe sign up for their services.

On the other hand as evidenced by the articles in this month’s Best Google+ Real Estate Articles For November 2016 many knowledgeable real estate bloggers genuinely want to share the latest and greatest information they can.

I hope you find these articles to be as useful as I did.

SHOULD YOU SELL YOUR HOME DURING THE HOLIDAYS?

This next article comes from my CinciNKYRealEstate.com website and talks about whether home sellers should list their home for sale during the holiday season. Often home sellers may be under the false impression that home sales do not happen during the holidays or that they are much slower and therefore prices have to be lower. Quite the opposite is true as explored in my article.

While home sales, in general, are lower than the peak time of year that does not mean houses don’t sell. In fact, many homes are selling and selling quickly to serious buyers who want to buy a home sooner rather than later. Be sure to check out my article if your want some reasons why you should sell your home during the holidays and for some tips to help sell your home.

SAVING UP FOR A HOME DOWN PAYMENT

Luke Skar from MadisonMortgageGuys.com writing for Kyle Hiscock’s RochesterRealEstateBlog.com provides some excellent insight on how best to save up for your home’s down payment. Whether you cut out the daily coffee expense or take on an extra job to save up a down payment, Luke discusses the best way to set aside that money and gets some input from some real estate agents on what their suggestions would be for buyers to save up money in anticipation of buying a home.

SELLING A HOME AS-IS

The first article comes from Kevin Vitali and talks about the process of selling your home as-is. Often home buyers and home sellers believe that a home sold as-is means it is sold without any warranty, guarantee or any sharing of information about the house. As Kevin points out the truth of the matter is that a home sold as-is still requires the seller to disclose the truth about conditions they know about and those issues cannot be hidden.

Selling a home as-is also puts into the buyer’s mind that the home is in absolute bottom of the barrel condition and as a result, they will offer accordingly. There are better ways to sell a home that doesn’t necessarily involve the “as-is” condition as both Kevin and Bill have pointed out.

Open houses are one of those things that some home sellers think are an absolute must to help get a house sold. In the right type of market, it is possible that open houses may be the key to getting a house sold. If you plan on having an open house for your home, you should do your best to discourage criminals from taking advantage of your open house as explained in the blog article by Anita Clark. From putting away valuables to asking for identification of those visiting your open house, there are some useful tips here to protect yourself.

HOW THE RAIN CAN BE YOUR FRIEND WHEN HOUSE HUNTING

Often when it is raining outside home buyers are disappointed since they may not be able to see the outside of a home as they had hoped to. But as pointed out by Conor MacEvilly the rain can help you discover problems with the house that usually are only seen when it is raining. Will the rain reveal a leaky roof, bad gutters or land with poor drainage?

All those issues and more have an impact on the home you want to buy so by knowing ahead of time of certain problems you can either drop that home from your list of homes completely or make sure the issues are properly inspected by a professional so you can make an offer with a full understanding of the issues.
